Sierra Leone's National Election
Please be praying with us for Sierra Leone as we go conduct our presidential and parliamentary elections on Nov. 17th, 2012. The campaign is on until Nov. 16th.
1. The campaign rallies in recent days have been violent. In Kono another political party was stoned, vehicle destroyed and a building destroyed.
2. Personality attacks on presidential aspirants from the opposition and ruling parties have been on the increase
3. Missing parts on human beings and mystery disappearance of some people.
4. We pray for tolerance, non-violence, free, fair and transparent elections.
5. That the Lord will give the nation a God-fearing leader who will lead the nation in the fear of the Lord.
Sierra Leone’s National Elections
As the nation of Sierra Leone prepares for the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentarian elections on Nov. 17th, 2012, please pray for the peace, stability, and tranquility that this nation has enjoyed after ten years of brutal civil war will be maintained.
Please pray for a peaceful, fair, free, and transparent elections and that there will be no violence, vandalism, insurrection, or rigging.
Pray that pastors and church leaders will not get mixed up in politics and compromise their call. There are some pastors and religious leaders who claim to prophesy and give false hope to politicians, that they are the ones the Lord has chosen even when the Lord has not spoken. Please pray that the word will be preached with integrity and not diluted.
Please pray that during this period many will come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Veronica Wisdom Conteh, a member of the IPC leadership team, reports that God is bringing transformation to her nation, one of the world’s poorest, through a succession of three 90-day prayer and fasting efforts from 2009-2011. President Earnest Bai Koroma has given strong support to this effort.
Based on Hosea 6:1-3, this prayer and repentance effort resulted in 80% of the paramount tribal chiefs, mayors and leaders responding to Christ’s call and convincing their people to participate. At the end of each 90-day effort, they have gathered at the national stadium and other stadiums to dedicate their nation to God. The President, Ministers, Parliamentarians and other national leaders have taken part, and God is answering with tangible effects in the realms of improved health, road construction, electricity, education, agricultural development, economic stability and the prosecution of corruption. Praise the Lord for this wonderful testimony about the power of prayer and repentance to bring His help for holistic transformation of nations!
